Ministry of National Defense: Which military camps will close and which units will merge by the end of the year
The Hellenic National Defense General Staff (HNDS) is immediately implementing Phase A of the relocation and merger plan for military units, as directed by the Minister of National Defense, Nikos Dendias. This is part of the restructuring of the Armed Forces and their New Structure, which involves changes to the formation layout and the closure of Army camps.
Kammenos pledges land transfer to PAOK for new soccer field
The Ministry of Defense will submit an amendment in the coming days transferring rights of use over an area of about 5.1 acres near Thessaloniki to the local soccer club, PAOK FC, to built a new soccer stadium, Minister Panos Kammenos said on Monday.
The land, which belongs to the National Defense Fund will be granted as a concession for a period of 100 years.
