British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said Wednesday that laws requiring people in England with COVID-19 to self-isolate could be lifted by the end of the month, bringing an end to all domestic coronavirus restrictions.

The long-awaited compulsory quarantine-free travel between Turkey and England resumed on Sept. 22 after Turkey was removed from the COVID-19 travel red list last week.

As of 4 a.m. (0300 GMT), all those arriving from Turkey will no longer need to self-isolate in a designated hotel, which was a mandatory process before.

The new measures for prevention against coronavirus come into force today.

Restaurants, bars, and gambling halls will be open from 07:00 to 23:00, with up to 6 people at a table, at a distance of one and a half meters. The nightclubs will not work.

Gyms will be able to use 30% of their seats.

There will be no music festivals and team building.

The U.K. government said late on Aug. 4 it will ease English entry rules requiring arrivals from France to quarantine even if they are fully vaccinated, following its latest review of travel curbs, but has kept Turkey in the red list.

The Bucharest Municipality Committee for Emergency Situations (CMBSU) has decided in its Sunday meeting to ban the indoor activities of restaurants and cafes, taking into account the over 3 per thousand incidence rate of COVID-19 cases in the Capital city.
