Archaeological excavations that have been carried out in the 3,000-year-old Zerzevan Castle and Mithras Sanctuary in the southeastern province of Diyarbakır's Çınar district have unearthed surgical materials.

A series of excavation studies will be launched to gather further information on massive structures recently found under the Zerzevan Castle, a 3,000-year-old Roman garrison in the southeastern province of Diyarbakır.

As part of the "Scientists of the Future" project supported by the Australian Embassy in the capital Ankara, a sky observation event has been organized at the 3,000-year-old Zerzevan Castle in the southeastern province of Diyarbakır.

Some 5,000 people attended a four-day "sky observation festival" held in an ancient castle in the southeastern province of Diyarbakır.

People monitored the sky and the stars with high tech telescopes in Zerzevan Castle, which was added to the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List in 2020.

A 1,600-year-old flute and bronze ring with a key have been unearthed during excavations in the 3,000-year-old Zerzevan Castle, located in the Çınar district of Diyarbakır and which served as the last garrison of the Roman Empire in the east. The castle is on the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List.

A metal monolith erected some time ago for the promotion of Turkey's space program at a point close to Göbeklitepe with the phrase "Look at the sky, see the moon" has appeared once again in Diyarbakır's Zerzevan Castle.

This time the monolith was erected for the promotion of the Sky Observation Event, which will be held in the historical castle on Sept. 2 and 4.
