Greek fifth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas was left surprised by the ease with which he stormed past veteran Frenchman Gilles Simon during a 6-1 6-2 6-1 thrashing to open his Australian Open campaign on Tuesday.
Medvedev loses to Simon again, Tsitsipas into Open 13 semis
Daniil Medvedev still can't find a way to beat Gilles Simon, losing 6-4, 6-0 in the Open 13 quarterfinals on Friday for a third loss in three matches against the French veteran.
The US Open runner-up and top seed in Marseille dropped his serve five times against the 35-year-old Simon, after breaking him in the first game.

The best Bulgarian tennis player Grigor Dimitrov started perfectly his participation in the Barcelona ATP500 tennis tournament with a prize of 2 510 900 euros.
The fifth in the world rankings Dimitrov was in the first round as the number two in the main circuit and today reached his first clay victory over the 33-year-old Frenchman Gilles Simon - 6:2, 6:1 in 1 hour and 22 minutes.

Troicki off to winning start at Roland Garros
PARIS - Serbia's Viktor Troicki has got off to a successful start at Roland Garros after beating Evgeny Donskoy 7-6 (7-4), 6-4, 6-0 in the first round on Monday.
Troicki, who won after 140 minutes of play, is now 2-0 head-to-head against the Russian, and will next face the winner of the match between Frenchman Gilles Simon and Georgian Nikoloz Basilashvili.

Djokovic wins thriller vs Simon, reaches Monte Carlo 3rd round
MONTE CARLO - Serbia's Novak Djokovic beat Frenchman Gilles Simon 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 on Tuesday to advance to the third round of the Monte Carlo ATP Masters tennis tournament.
Djokovic, who came from behind to win the match after being on the verge of defeat in the third set, will next face the winner of the tie between Pablo Carreno Busta of Spain and Karen Khachanov of Russia.

Karlovic ousts Tipsarevic from Tokyo
TOKYO - Serbia's Janko Tipsarevic has been knocked out the Tokyo ATP tennis tournament after losing to Croatia's Ivo Karlovic 7-6 (11-9), 7-6 (7-5) in the round of last 16 Thursday.
In a bid to reach the semi-finals, Karlovic will face Frenchman Gael Monfils, who beat compatriot Gilles Simon 6-1, 6-4.

Bulgaria's Dimitrov Slumps in ATP Ranking
Grigor Dimitrov, Bulgaria's highest-ranking tennis player, has returned to the 28th spot in the global chart following defeats in the Monte-Carlo Masters tennis tournament.
Last week he lost to Gilles Simon (France), dropping out in the second round, while last year he had made it to the quarterfinals.

The highest ranking Bulgarian male tennis player Grigor Dimitrov suffered a defeat in the second round of the Monte-Carlo Masters on Tuesday.
Dimitrov lost to Gilles Simon from France with 4:6, 3:6 in a match which lasted slightly less than one hour and a half.
