Ankara court rejects merging of file on jailed HDP co-chair Demirtaş

An Ankara regional court has sent a file on jailed Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş back to the Ankara 2nd High Criminal Court on the grounds that it was not prepared in accordance with necessary procedures, Doğan News Agency reported on Aug. 30. 

Opposition HDP lawmaker Besime Konca released from prison

Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Siirt deputy Besime Konca was released from prison on July 29 after the approval of her appeal against a 2.5-year prison sentence for disseminating terror propaganda.  The 2nd High Criminal Court in the southeastern province of Batman ordered Konca's release considering the five years she remained in custody.

Two former judges face life sentences over 'parallel state' claims

Two former judges who were arrested for ordering the release of 76 suspects charged with alleged links to the ?parallel state? of U.S.-based Islamic scholar Fethullah Gülen face aggravated life sentences on multiple charges, according to an indictment prepared in the case. 

Four prosecutors, one commander detained in Syria-bound intelligence trucks case

Four prosecutors and one commander, for whom arrest warrants were issued after their halting of Syria-bound National Intelligence Organization (M?T) trucks in Turkey's south last year, have been detained. 

The Tarsus 2nd High Criminal Court ordered the arrest of four prosecutors, along with a commander who ordered the Syria-bound trucks belonging to M?T to be stopped and searched.
