At least 8 killed in accident in country’s southeast
A collision between a passenger minibus and a truck has killed at least eight people and injured 11 others in the southeastern province of Gaziantep.
A minibus traveling towards the neighboring city of Hatay on May 6 collided with a concrete mixer truck, local media reported. The vehicle carrying several passengers was crushed by the impact of the accident and tumbled down a slope.
Saudi princess pays visit to quake-hit city
Saudi Arabian princess and United Nations Habitat Goodwill Ambassador Lamia Bint Majid Al Saud has traveled to the southeastern province of Gaziantep's earthquake stricken Nurdağı district.
Princess Al Saud, who came to the quake-hit city for a series of visits, first visited Gaziantep Governor's Office.

Eskişehir governor appointed as police chief
Erol Ayyıldız, the governor of the Central Anatolian province of Eskişehir, has been appointed to the position of General Director of Police.
According to the decision, Ayyıldız was chosen to fill the vacant post following the appointment of former police chief Mehmet Aktaş as deputy interior minister.

Some 200 people evacuated as heavy rain hits Black Sea province of Rize
Heavy rain has once again hit the Black Sea province of Rize, less than two weeks after the torrential rain and flooding in the city killed at least six people while two others went missing.
In the Fındıklı, Çamlıhemşin and Ardeşen districts of the province, the creeks overflowed their banks.

10 tea pickers test positive for COVID-19 as harvest begins
Ten people from around 7,000 tea producers have tested positive for the coronavirus, as the country has permitted exceptional inter-city travel to tea collectors travelling to the Black Sea province of Rize to collect this year's harvest.
Tea harvest continues during holiday
Tea producers in northern Turkey continued their harvest on May 24, which marked the beginning of Eid al-Fitr, the three-day festival following the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
Turkey has imposed a four-day round-the-clock holiday curfew as part of its measures against the coronavirus pandemic, which has claimed over 4,200 lives in the country.
