Municipal councilors from the commission for education and culture in Sofia voted "in favor" of dismantling and moving the monument to the Soviet Army.

The Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) leadership has met Russian Ambassador to Sofia Anatoliy Makarov, party officials say.

It is "high time" for Bulgaria to have a "responsible and balance attitude and policy both westward and eastward," Kaloyan Pargov, the head of BSP's structure in Sofia, has told the Bulgarian National Radio.

Sofia Prosecutor's Office has started a check of the deal with the Tsarski konyushni property. The Prosecutor's Office has received the signal submitted by BSP deputies Zhelyo Boychev and Kaloyan Pargov against the deal concluded by the Sofia District Governor.

Kaloyan Pargov, who heads the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP)'s structure in the capital Sofia, has called on Parliament to dissolve itself to pave the way for early elections.

Pargov has made his remarks at a party meeting in Sofia  that has to end with a vote for a new leader, with Pargov expected to be elected for another term in office, according to Dnevnik.bg.

Economy and Energy Minister Dragomir Stoynev has been appointed member of the Executive Bureau of the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) and Deputy Chair of the BSP National Council.

Stoynev’s nomination, backed by BSP leader Sergey Stanishev, was approved in a unanimous vote during Saturday’s plenary meeting of BSP, according to the press office of the party, as cited by Sega daily.
