Vucic thanks Italy for its respect, support for Serbia
BELGRADE - Discussions with Italian businesspeople are extremely important for Serbia, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Monday, noting that he was grateful to Italian PM Giorgia Meloni and FM Antonio Tajani for their exceptional respect for Serbia.
North Adriatic Hydrogen Valley ready for launch
The North Adriatic Hydrogen Valley will be launched in September after the project's lead partner, Slovenia's power holding HSE, signed a contract on EU funding with the Clean Hydrogen Partnership.
HSE signed the contract for the six-year project last week on behalf of the consortium of 34 partners from Slovenia, Croatia and Italy's Friuli Venezia Giulia.

Slovenian community secures one seat in Friuli Venezia Giulia council
Marko Pisani has been elected to the Friuli Venezia Giulia Regional Council as the only member of the Slovenian ethnic minority to make it to the legislative assembly of this Italian region. The other Slovenian councillor, Danilo Slokar, failed to get re-elected in the regional elections on 2 and 3 April.
North Adriatic Hydrogen Valley wins EU funds
North Adriatic Hydrogen Valley, a transnational project led by the Slovenian energy company HSE, has won a €25 million grant from the EU's Horizon Europe Programme.
Involving Slovenia, Croatia and the Italian region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, it is the first transnational project in Europe designed to establish a dedicated hydrogen valley, according to HSE.

New rail link set up between Vienna, Ljubljana and Trieste
Ljubljana – A new direct rail line linking Vienna, Ljubljana and Trieste was launched on Friday. The newly-established route is an important milestone in sustainable mobility efforts, said the Slovenian railway operator Slovenske Železnice. The line will run every day, starting this afternoon.
Avalanches claim three lives, rescuers injured
Preddvor – Two avalanches were triggered in the area of Mt Storžič (2,132 metres) in the western part of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps mountain range on Saturday, burying four climbers. Three died at the scene and one sustained severe injuries, the Administration for Civil Protection and Disatser Relief says on its website. Two rescuers were also injured.

Nova Gorica to be 2025 European Capital of Culture
Nova Gorica – The European Capitals of Culture Expert Panel has recommended the Slovenian border city of Nova Gorica to be the European Capital of Culture 2025 along with Germany’s Chemnitz. Nova Gorica has been bidding for the title together with Gorizia on the Italian side of the border with the slogan Go! Borderless.
