COVID-19 pandemic in Israel

Ireland will remove almost all restrictions against the spread of coronavirus today, after going through another wave of huge numbers infected with the spread of the Omicron variant, said Prime Minister Michal Martin in an address to the nation, reports BTA.

Israel is to close its borders to all foreigners later on Nov. 28 in a bid to stem the spread of the new Omicron variant of the coronavirus, authorities said.

"The entry of foreign nationals into Israel is banned except for cases approved by a special committee," the prime minister's office said in a statement, adding that the measure would take effect on Sunday evening.

The Italian government approved on Thursday some of the strictest anti-Covid measures in the world, making it obligatory for all workers either to show proof of vaccination, a negative test or recent recovery from infection, Reuters reported.
