Ukrainian National Detained for Espionage at Bulgarian Thermal Power Plant

A 23-year-old man has been detained for suspected espionage at the Bulgarian TPP "Maritsa Iztok 2". The suspect, identified as a Ukrainian national, was found with multiple drones, mobile phones, cameras, SIM cards, and memory cards. According to Deputy Chief Prosecutor Hristo Krastev, the man was apprehended by the plant's security team within the facility.

Coast guard find 209 kilos of cannabis on truck from Italy

A truck driver is expected to appear before a prosecutor after coast guard officers found 209 kilograms of cannabis in his vehicle as it arrived on a passenger ferry at the port of Igoumenitsa from Italy.

In an announcement, the coast guard said a drug sniffer dog, Vlad, had detected the drugs, which were wrapped in 193 plastic bags and placed in paper boxes.

US requires enhanced screening of cargo from Turkey

The U.S. Transportation Security Administration said on Sept. 7 that it is issuing a new security directive requiring enhanced screening of cargo from Turkey.

The change was "to adequately address emerging threats to cargo and raise the baseline for global aviation security," TSA spokesman Michael England said.
