Osman Hamdi Bey’s painting sold in Paris
Osman Hamdi Bey's 1879 painting, titled "Gate of the Great Mosque, Bursa," has been sold for 571,500 euros at an auction in Paris.
The painting was put up for auction at Drouot Auction House in Paris. The 60 cm by 42 cm oil painting is considered one of the finest examples of the artist's unique style.

Second 'Tortoise Trainer' at Türkiye İş Bankası Museum
Turkish painter Osman Hamdi Bey's second "The Tortoise Trainer" has been included in the permanent exhibition titled "Viewing Turkish Painting" at Türkiye İş Bankası Painting and Sculpture Museum in Istanbul's Beyoğlu.
This second work of the artist with the same theme, dated 1907, is now neighbor to the first version, dated 1906, exhibited at the Pera Museum.
Osman Hamdi painting to go on display in NY
As part of the 100th-anniversary celebrations of the Turkish Republic, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York will organize the 100th Anniversary Gala event on Oct. 25, with an exhibition featuring Turkish painter Osman Hamdi Bey's painting "Girl Reading the Qur'an" and artwork from Burhan Doğançay's "Ribbons" series.

Turkish national basketball player weds in Aegean tourism hub
Famous Turkish basketball player Cedi Osman, who plays for NBA's Cleveland Cavaliers, has tied the knot with actress Ebru Şahin at a wedding ceremony in the western province of İzmir's coastal district Çeşme.
Some 250 celebrities and family members gathered at the ceremony on July 9.
"We are very excited," said the 27-year-old captain of the Turkish national basketball team.
