The Athens Concert Hall (Vassilisis Sofias & Kokkali) is hosting a two-part tribute blending classical instruments with electronic soundscapes on October 19. Athens-based artists including Georgia Spyropoulou and Andreas Mniestris will combine acoustic instruments with electronic beats, using laptops to craft innovative, otherworldly sounds.

"All my life, I've seen men behind the decks," said party-goer Menna Shanab, 26, as psychedelic visuals reflected off the waters at the Nile-side venue.

Michelle Rasul had just learned to read and write and was already spinning turntables, scratching hip-hop records and making the beats drop. Four years later, at the age of 9, she's one of the world's top DJs and competed in this year's global championship.
