Tonin receives Portuguese counterpart Cravinho
Ljubljana – Defence Minister Matej Tonin received in Ljubljana on Friday his Portuguese counterpart Joao Gomes Cravinho to talk about enhancing cooperation in defence and military matters and in other fields, assessing the bilateral defence and military relations as exceptionally good.

Slovenia sending blankets, sleeping bags to quake-hit Haiti
Ljubljana – Slovenia will send aid to Haiti, which has recently been hit by a strong earthquake. The shipment of blankets and sleeping bags is worth EUR 140,000, including transport to the Caribbean country.
The decision to send aid through the EU civil protection mechanism was taken by the government at Thursday’s session, the Government Communication Office said in a press release.
First Israel-Slovenia Friendship Day to be marked
Metlika/Cerklje ob Krki – A high-profile ceremony at the Prilozje air strip near the town of Metlika in the south-east of the country will mark the first Slovenia-Israel Friendship Day on Monday in memory of the joint fight against Nazism and Fascism in World War II. Slovenia’s president Borut Pahor and Israeli Ambassador Eyal Sela will be in attendance.
