Tunisia party leader banned from travel: Court

A Tunisian court has imposed a travel ban on the speaker of the country's now-dissolved parliament, a court spokeswoman said.

The interdiction against Rached Ghannouchi is part of an inquiry into alleged obstruction of justice in connection with the assassination in 2013 of two left-wing figures, the court spokesman said on Friday.

Turkish, Algerian presidents discuss developments in Tunisia on phone

Turkey's president and his Algerian counterpart spoke on the phone on July 30, according to a statement by Turkey's Communications Directorate.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Algeria's Abdelmadjid Tebboune discussed regional matters, especially Turkish-Algerian relations and developments in Tunisia, said the directorate statement.

Tunisian president suspends parliament, dismisses PM

Tunisian President Kais Saied announced late on July 25 that he has fully assumed executive authority in addition to suspending parliament.

During a meeting with military leaders, Saied said he had decided to sack Prime Minister Hicham Mechichi, according to the Tunisian Presidency's official Facebook page.
