Two wildfires that burned near Athens since Sunday, destroying dozens of houses and vehicles had eased by Monday morning, officials said.

Fire in Keratea: 52 rescues and dozens of evacuations (videos-photos)
The Fire in Keratea that broke out just before 12:00 noon in the Plaka area.
Information so far says that homes have been burned. So far, 52 rescues and dozens of evacuations of homes have been carried out.
Meanwhile, traffic regulations are currently in effect and according to the Traffic Police, the following diversions remain in effect in the area of Lavreotiki:

A large wildfire broke out southeast of the Greek capital in the area of Keratea on Sunday afternoon, with residents in several settlement told to move to a safer area.
According to local authorities the fire is burning houses, while strong winds are inhibiting firefighting efforts.

A big wildfire broke out southeast of the Greek capital near Keratea on Saturday evening, with residents in one settlement told to move to a safer area.
The flames were burning low grassland but there were scattered houses in the area which could be threatened. More than 100 firefighters with 30 vehicles and four units on foot have been deployed, the fire service said. The

Refugee camp targeted by Turkey to close
The decision by the Migration and Asylum Ministry to proceed with the gradual closure of the Lavrio refugee camp due to objective criteria, namely the unsuitability of the site to continue hosting refugees, will also satisfy Turkey, which has constantly demanded its shutdown as it considers it a "training camp" for Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants.

New fire overnight at Keratea – Flares fired into the forest
With the fire in Vilia not extinguished, another fire in Lavreotiki sounded the alarm in the early hours of Friday, but fortunately with a happy ending.
The fire reached a breath from a settlement that fortunately was not in danger, with the mayor of Lavreotiki reporting an arson after a flare.

The situation because of the big fire in the area of Vilia is dramatic. At night five more settlements were evacuated (Thea, Panorama, Paleochori, Paleokoundoura and Agia Sotira) and the nursing home "Panagia Faneromeni", as the flames that spread on a large front approached residential areas burning dense and inaccessible virgin pine forest on Mount Patera.
