An average of 23,000 men and 4,500 women in Turkey are diagnosed with lung cancer every year, according to data by the country's Health Ministry.

Tobacco use causes around 80-90 percent of lung cancer cases, the data showed as the world observes Lung Cancer Awareness Month.
