Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou will be in Nicosia on Monday and Tuesday for an official visit scheduled to coincide with the anniversary of the Republic of Cyprus' independence from British rule, on October 1.

Türkiye slams new Netflix series for 'distorting historical facts' on Cyprus
Türkiye on Sunday criticized the upcoming television series "Famagusta," set to broadcast on the digital platform Netflix, accusing it of promoting Greek Cypriot propaganda by "distorting historical facts."
The Turkish Foreign Ministry issued a statement on X expressing strong disapproval of the series, which it claims "misrepresents" the events that occurred between 1963 and 1974.

Anastasiades, Guterres to discuss restart of substantial Cyprus settlement talks

The President of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades is to hold talks with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres in New York today to discuss a restart of substantial Cyprus talks and ways to transcend the huge divide between the Turkish Cypriot and Turkey on the one hand and the Republic of Cyprus and Greece on the other.

Official negotiations on the Cyprus issue can start only after the recognition of the sovereign equality of the Turkish side, the Turkish Cypriot president said on June 26.
