Türkiye seeks to boost trade ties with Brazil: Minister Bolat
Türkiye sees Brazil as a gateway to South America and aims to further strengthen economic ties between the two countries, Trade Minister Ömer Bolat has said.
Currently, Brazil is Türkiye's largest trading partner among Latin American and Caribbean countries, Bolat said, speaking at the ceremony in Ankara marking Brazil's National Day.
Trade Minister, business delegation visiting Pakistan
Trade Minister Ömer Bolat, accompanied by a delegation of Turkish businesspeople, is paying an official visit to Pakistan to bolster ties between the two countries.
Bolat first met with Finance Minister Mohammad Aurangzeb.

Authorities mull harsher fines for stockpiling
Harsher fines are being considered for stockpiling and exorbitant prices, Trade Minister Ömer Bolat has unveiled, noting that respective legislation will be submitted to parliament.
"We have completed our work as part of the efforts to fight excessive price increases. Soon we will forward it to parliament," Bolat said in an interview with private broadcaster CNN Türk.

Turkish Airlines starts flights to Melbourne
Turkish Airlines has launched scheduled flights to Australia's Melbourne and hopes to start flights to Sydney by the end of the year.
The first plane on route to Melbourne departed from Istanbul Airport on March 1 with 349 passengers, including Ahmet Bolat, chairman of Turkish Airlines, and a group of journalists.

Türkiye, Ukraine set up reconstruction task force
Türkiye and Ukraine have signed a document to set up the Turkish-Ukrainian Reconstruction Task Force that will allow Turkish companies to take part in the infrastructure projects in Ukraine.
The deal was inked during the forum on the reconstruction of Ukraine, organized in Istanbul on Jan. 31.

UK Trade Secretary Badenoch visits Türkiye
Britain's Business and Trade Secretary Kemi Badenoch paid a visit to Türkiye to strengthen business links ahead of the expected launch of trade deal talks later this year, said the U.K.'s Department of Business and Trade in a statement on Jan. 5.
As part of her visit to the country, Badenoch met with her Turkish counterpart, Ömer Bolat.

More than 1,900 companies have been handed administrative fines totaling 137 million Turkish Liras over unfair price increases, Trade Minister Ömer Bolat has said.
They are closely monitoring companies that negatively impact consumers through exorbitant price hikes and put well-intentioned businesses under suspicion, the minister added.
