Türkiye tops European countries in rent increase
Türkiye has recorded the highest annual increase in rent among European Union members and EU candidate countries, according to data from Eurostat.
Between May 2023 and May 2024, rents in Türkiye surged by 125.1 percent. Hungary came second with an annual increase of 12.8 percent in rent prices.

Demand for rental housing rising fast
The number of people looking for a rental house surpassed those who look for a house to buy, according to recently published data.
Figures provided by the real estate platform Emlakjet showed that in May 52 percent of those out in the real estate market are looking for a house to rent. In April, this was 50 percent.
