Investment opportunities in focus at Toronto Economic Forum
Alternate National Economy and Finance Minister Nikos Papathanasis and Ontario Premier Doug Ford attended the Toronto Economic Forum on Thursday.
The forum aims to strengthen economic ties between Greece and Canada, bringing together leaders from key sectors in both countries. Its goal is to enhance collaboration in strategic areas.
Greece to acquire new Canadair firefighting aircraft
Greece will acquire a DHC-515 firefighting aircraft, known as the new Canadair, under the "Civil Protection 2021-2027" program, Deputy Finance Minister Nikos Papathanasis announced Monday.
The 53.1 million euro purchase, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund, will be managed by the Climate Crisis Ministry.
Greece a leader in best PPP practices
Greece has secured the second position worldwide for best competitive procedures for public-private partnership projects, according to the Benchmarking Infrastructure Development 2024 report by the World Bank.

Expansion of Public Investments Program
This year's Public Investments Program is being expanded by 900 million euros, with the submission of a supplementary budget at the beginning of October, in order to pay for infrastructure projects, including for the restoration of damage in Thessaly and to speed up the European Union-funded National Strategic Reference Framework (NSRF) projects.

“My House” Program: 58% of approved loans are for young couples
New couples are involved, at a rate of 58%, in the approved loans under the “My House” Program, according to data forwarded to Parliament by the Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance Nikos Papathanasis. 87% of the approved loans are for beneficiaries with an annual income of less than 24,000 euros.

On November 30, 2024, the Thessaloniki Metro will be delivered to the people of Thessaloniki, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced during his speech at the event titled: “National Strategy for Regional Development / Presentation of the Digital Platform erga.gov.gr.”
