President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan reaffirmed his administration's commitment to support earthquake survivors, while accusing the opposition of exploiting the disaster for political gain.

A new magnitude 5 earthquake has jolted the eastern province of Malatya, with no casualties or severe damages reported, the country's Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) has announced.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has pledged swift relief for earthquake victims, announcing plans to relocate those still in facilities or tents to containers by Aug. 15, while unveiling a comprehensive initiative to bolster earthquake preparedness through the transformation of 6.5 million homes across Türkiye.

A magnitude 5.3 earthquake shook southern Türkiye on Aug. 10, causing damage to buildings and wounding 23 people, Turkish officials said.

It's been exactly six months since the devastating earthquakes jolted Türkiye's south, bringing massive destruction, loss of life and trauma to those left behind, as the country continues intensive infrastructure and construction works to rebuild the cities and bring relief to survivors and heal their wounds.

Several people were injured in an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5, which shook the southern Turkish province of Adana this morning, reported the state television "TRT-Haber".

The demolition of hundreds of severely damaged buildings in the quake-hit southern province of Hatay has been halted as property owners applied to the courts to stop the works.

In Hatay, one of the worst hit provinces by the quakes in early February, the debris of collapsed buildings has been cleared.
