New heatwave, more dust on its way next week
Temperatures are set to soar again next week across the country with meteorologists even forecasting up to 43-44 degrees Celsius in heat-sensitive plains.
According to the National Meteorological Service (EMY), temperatures will begin to climb at the weekend between 34C and 36C in mainland areas, with a further rise from Tuesday.

Storms forecast over weekend
Civil Protection authorities are on heightened alert in response to forecasts of severe weather on Saturday as the high temperatures give way to rain and storms.
"Tomorrow [Thursday] at 1 p.m., the National Meteorological Service [EMY] will issue an emergency notice of worsening weather," said Minister of Civil Protection and Climate Crisis Vassilis Kikilias.

Rainfall expected to increase in early hours Wed, minister warns
The heavy rainfall caused by Storm Daniel is expected to increase once again in the early hours of Wednesday morning before abating from noon, Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Vassilis Kikilias has warned, citing meteorologists' forecasts.
Kikilias appealed to residents in Magnesia to avoid all travel and follow the instructions of the authorities while the storm persists.
