Turkish Coast Guard teams have rescued 20 irregular migrants off the coast of Ayvalık district in the northwestern province of Balıkesir, after receiving reports of a drifting fiber boat in the area.

The migrants, who had been trying to reach Greece's Lesbos Island, were pushed back into Turkish territorial waters by Greek authorities.

The fourth museum after the ones in Istanbul, Ankara and Cunda, the Ayvalık Rahmi M. Koç Museum has welcomed its guests since the beginning of the year. The museum's opening was celebrated with an event hosted by Koç Holding Honorary President Rahmi M Koç

Ferry services between the Turkish province of Ayvalık in the province of Balıkesir and Greece's Lesbos Island have resumed after two years.

Coast Guard units rescued 54 irregular migrants off Balıkesir province in western Turkey.

Coast Guard elements were informed that dozens of migrants were stranded on rubber boats off Altınova neighborhood in Balıkesir and launched a rescue operation.

The Turkish Coast Guard rescued on Sept. 3 as many as 174 asylum seekers in the Aegean Sea after they were pushed back by Greek authorities, according to the Coast Guard Command.

A historical chapel, which is believed to be 250 years old, in the Aegean province of Balıkesir's Ayvalık district, has been destroyed by treasure hunters who took advantage of measures implemented against the coronavirus outbreak.
