BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has received New Year and Christmas greetings from numerous foreign officials.

The greetings were sent by Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, the press office of the president of Serbia said in a statement.

Türkiye and Uzbekistan will hold a security summit with the participation of foreign and interior ministers as well as intelligence chiefs, Turkish diplomatic sources have informed.

This meeting which will focus on security, migration and counterterrorism issues will mark a first in Turkish-Uzbekistan ties, according to the sources.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has received his Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the presidential complex in the capital Ankara for bilateral talks.

Mirziyoyev will attend the seventh meeting of the Türkiye-Uzbekistan High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council on the first day of his visit.

In the midst of local election tallies, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has engaged in diplomatic exchanges via telephone with several global leaders, including Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Uzbekistan leader Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
