Hamas said talks in Qatar on Tuesday aimed at a truce and hostage-prisoner exchange in Gaza were "serious and positive", a day after an Israeli delegation flew in to meet with mediators.

Benjamin Netanyahu is heading to Cairo today for talks on a ceasefire in Gaza, sources briefed on the developments told Reuters, adding that an agreement is expected to be signed in the coming days.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Friday that he discussed the imperative of Palestinian militant group Hamas' saying "yes" to the Gaza ceasefire agreement in his talks with Turkey's president and foreign minister.

Ankara has denied reports from the Israeli media that Hamas political leadership has moved to Türkiye from Qatar.

"The members of the Hamas political bureau visit Türkiye from time to time. But claims that the Hamas political bureau has moved to Türkiye do not reflect the reality," said the sources from the Turkish Foreign Ministry on Nov. 18.

Qatar has suspended its role as a key mediator for a Gaza ceasefire and hostage release deal until Hamas and Israel demonstrate "seriousness" in talks, the foreign ministry said Saturday.

Negotiators discussed what they’re calling a “mini” ceasefire proposal in Doha, which, according to a Jerusalem Post report, would enable a short-term pause in hostilities between Israel and Hamas with the release of a limited number of hostages.

Earlier this morning, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's private residence in Caesarea was the target of a drone attack launched from Lebanon, according to reports by The Times of Israel citing the Prime Minister's Office. The statement clarified that neither Netanyahu nor his wife, Sara, were at home during the incident, and no injuries were reported.
