Sofia Pride is urging candidates from political parties to endorse their pre-election declaration aimed at safeguarding equality for LGBTIQ+ individuals in Bulgaria. The organizers of the country's largest human rights event are calling for candidates to sign the declaration, which commits them to advocate for the rights and visibility of LGBTIQ+ people in the 51st National Assembly.

Bulgarian MPs have declined to back a bill proposed by the "There Is Such a People" party (TISP) that aimed to prohibit advertising and medical procedures for gender reassignment for individuals under 18. Meanwhile, "We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria" (WCC-DB) abstained from voting on three of its own proposed amendments to the Child Protection Act.

Daniela Vezieva, the former Minister of Economy under Stefan Yanev's caretaker government, expressed willingness to meet with Prime Minister nominee Goritsa Grancharova-Kozhareva. However, she emphasized that her acceptance would depend on specific conditions, such as having clear expectations, criteria, and a detailed plan for the limited time the cabinet would have to work.

On August 7, Bulgarian deputies swiftly passed new amendments to the Law on School and Preschool Education, banning the promotion of what they term as "non-traditional sexual orientation" in schools. The debate lasted over four hours as lawmakers deliberated on the definition and implications of such propaganda.
