Belgian duo Neuville and Wydaeghe win Acropolis Rally
The Belgian crew of Thierry Neuville and Martijn Wydaeghe won the Acropolis Greece Sunday, leading a sweep of the first three places by the Hyundai Shell Mobis World Rally Team.
Dani Sordo and Candido Carrera of Spain were the runners-up, 1 minute, 36.8 seconds behind the winners. Estonians Ott Tanak and Martin Jarveoja were third, 2 minutes, 57.3 seconds behind.
Neuville set to stretch championship lead in Acropolis Rally
Hyundai's Thierry Neuville was set to stretch his world championship lead after ending Saturday's penultimate leg of Greece's Acropolis Rally with a 53.7 second advantage.
The Belgian started the day third but went top after teammates Ott Tanak and Dani Sordo suffered misfortune ahead of him on another punishing day.
Grueling Acropolis Rally enters second day
Belgium's Thierry Neuville and and his co-driver Martijn Wydaeghe drive their Hyundai i20 N Rally1 Hybrid on the Dafni stage during the EKO Acropolis Rally Greece, part of the World Rally Championship (WRC), in the Fthiotida regional unit of Central Greece, on Friday. Hyundai's Ott Tanak held a healthy lead on the day over teammate Dani Sordo.

Drivers take on grueling Acropolis Rally in central Greece
Japanese driver Takamoto Katsuta and his co-driver Aaron Johnston are racing the Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 Hybrid on the Ano Pavliani special stage during the EKO Acropolis Rally Greece, part of the World Rally Championship (WRC), in the Fthiotida regional unit of central Greece, Friday.
“Rally of the Gods” revs up in Lamia today
With the reconnaissance of the special stages completed, the countdown has begun for today’s start of this year’s “EKO Acropolis Rally.” A total of 70 crews from 31 countries, including 17 Greek teams, will participate.
