Gazprom continues to supply natural gas to Europe through Ukraine. This was announced today to the media by the spokesman of the Russian holding Sergey Kupriyanov, quoted by TASS.

Bulgaria's Chiren underground gas storage contains enough gas to meet the country's needs for three months with some restrictions, according to a media statement of the Energy Ministry.

The Russian state company Gazprom will set up a company for the construction of a gas pipeline to Turkey, a week after Russia's President Vladimir Putin announced the cancellation of the South Stream pipeline.

According to Sergey Kupriyanov, spokesperson of Gazprom, quoted by Gazeta.ru, the company will be named Gazprom Russkaya and will be registered in Saint Petersburg.

Russian gas giant Gazprpom on Wednesday confirmed receiving the first tranche of payment for past deliveries from Ukraine's Naftogaz. 

The payment opens the way for resumption of Russian gas supplies to Ukraine under an agreement between Moscow and Kiev reached last week in Brussels.

Russian energy concern Gazprom has accused the European Commission that it is putting a wheel on South Stream for political reasons.
