EU Allocates Additional EUR 133,4 M for Bulgaria, Sweden to Mitigate Impact of Coronavirus Crisis

Deprived people in Romania to be issued hot meal tickets under bill passed by Chamber
The Chamber of Deputies on Wednesday passed a bill approving Emergency Ordinance (OUG) 115/2020, which provides for the issuing of digital social vouchers of 180 lei per month for hot meals to people over 75 years of age whose income is at the level of social allowance and to the homeless, with the necessary amounts to be provided from non-reimbursable external funds.
Bulgarian Red Cross to Distribute Food in Sofia
The Sofia organisation of the Bulgarian Red Cross (BRC) has started distributing food in Sofia, said the BRC press office. The food products will be distributed under the Operational Programme for Food and/or Basic Material Assistance under the Fund for European Aid to the Most Deprived, Operation 2 "Provision of Individual Food Packages 2017 - 2019".

Fin Min Teodorovici on rectification: No cuts to Transport, Health or Education Ministries
The budget rectification does not entail funding cuts from ministries such as Transport, Health or Education, and the ministers are under the obligation to spend the allocated money, Minister of Public Finance Eugen Teodorovici told a Tuesday's press conference. The Bulgarian Red Cross started on Wednesday the annual distribution of food products to the most deprived citizens.
Until January 29 more than 255 000 people will be supplied with food products of first need.
