Solar power generation breaks record last week: Ministry

The share of solar power in Türkiye's electricity generation reached an all-time high on June 16, the first day of the Eid al-Adha holiday, the Energy Ministry has said.

Türkiye produced 682,233 megawatts of electricity on June 16 and 109,501 of this was generated by solar power, according to Energy Minister Alparaslan Bayraktar.

A remarkable shift in Bulgaria's energy landscape has been unveiled in the latest report from the Commission for Energy and Water Regulation, submitted to the Bulgarian parliament. The data reveals a staggering increase of over 140% in electricity production from photovoltaic plants, accompanied by a significant decline in output from coal-fired power plants in the year 2023.

HELPE acquires 204 MW photovoltaic project in Kozani

Hellenic Petroleum on Monday announced the acquisition of a solar power park in Kozani with a power of 204 MW, the largest project of renewable energy sources in Greece and one of the top 5 photovoltaic farms in Europe.

The project is currently under development by German company juwi and it is expected to be put into operation by the end of 2021.

Solar park opens in Beocin

BEOCIN - Serbian Minister of Energy Aleksandar Antic has opened a 1 MW solar power plant in Tancos, Beocin municipality, near Novi Sad.

The investment is worth EUR 2 million, with EUR 1.4 million secured from an Erste bank loan.

The 2.5-hectare solar park, which has 4,500 solar panels, is one of the largest in Serbia, Antic told reporters on Wednesday after opening the plant.
