Ferry crews call off strike early ahead of long weekend
Ferry crews have curtailed a four-day strike by several hours, announcing they would go back on the job in the early Friday afternoon instead of at midnight.
The strike had threatened to disrupt the travel plans of thousands of citizens heading to islands for a long weekend ahead of the October 28 national holiday on Monday.
Seamen’s union declares new 48-hour strike
Greece’s national seamen’s union federation PNO on Tuesday announced a new 48-hour strike.
The strike will start on Wednesday, immediately after the current 48-hour seamen’s strike ends at 6:00 on Wednesday morning.

Bosnia's Federation Plans Electricity Price Hike
A strike by miners in the Federation, which was scheduled for Monday, was averted at the last moment after the entity's government agreed at a meeting with the miners' union to increase electricity prices in order to modernise the Federation's mines.

Burgas Miners End Strike
Coal miners' striking at an underground pit near Burgas over wage arrears have ended their protest action, state-run Bulgarian National Radio reported on Friday.
Some 60 miners, who had spent more than 40 hours 300 metres below ground to demand unpaid wages for two months, emerged from the pit after their demand was met.
