An Austrian court has sentenced a Bulgarian national to five years in prison for people smuggling, The Associated Press reported on Wednesday.
The court in the city of Linz had found the 41-year-old Bulgarian man guilty of people smuggling after police discovered 20 migrants tightly packed in the back of his refrigeration truck when they stopped the vehicle in August 2015.

Balkan Suspects Held in Austrian Anti-Terror Raids
The suspects were detained on Friday in a police operation codenamed Palmira which was aimed at alleged terrorists and recruiters of fighters in foreign conflicts such as Syria.
Around 900 police and other officials were involved in the operation which was described by the Austrian authorities as the biggest "in the history of Austrian state security".
