1,200 Sheep in the Streets of Lyon Against the State's Protection of the Wolves

1,200 sheep were placed in the streets of Lyon, with hundreds of shepherds, mostly from the alpine regions. They protest a planned ban on shooting wolves.

It is envisaged that the predator, which is a protected species, will only be intimidated by shots. The shepherds are unhappy because the benefits for their animals are tied to the herd's security measures.

British Woman was Killed by Wolves Along the Border of Greece with Bulgaria

A British tourist has died torn by wolves in Greece, Macedonian site Factor reported.

The incident occurred near the village of Perota, which is close to the border with Bulgaria. Authorities in Greece have found the torn body of the 65-year-old woman and her passport. She was declared missing earlier.

Ranch owners say wolves attacked racehorses in Istanbul

Hungry wolves have attacked racehorses, killing at least one and injuring another, according to ranch owners in Istanbul's Silivri district, Doğan News Agency reported on Aug. 20.

The incidents occurred in the Büyükçavuşlu and Beyciler neighborhoods on the outskirts of the Istranca Forests. 

Abandoned wolf pups found in forested area in Turkey's Diyarbakır

A total of six wolf pups were found in a forested area in the southeastern province of Diyarbakır on May 8, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported. 

Ergün Yücel Avcı, Forestry Ministry's director of the Hazro district, and forest protection officers found the pups while on duty investigating afforestation works in the İslamköy neighborhood.  

New 'Valley of the Wolves' movie handles foiled coup attempt in Turkey

Another movie adaptation of Turkey's popular TV series and a leading export item to the Arab world, "Valley of the Wolves" (Kurtlar Vadisi), is slated to be released in September, with its director and main actor giving a tiny spoiler that it will touch on last year's foiled coup attempt. 

Bear found dead in northern Greece, believed poisoned

A veterinarian is due to determine whether a brown bear - a protected species - found dead on the outskirts of Florina in northern Greece on Tuesday was poisoned or died of other causes.

Arcturos, a Florina-based bear conservation group, said it found the animal dead a day after alerting authorities in Florina that a bear had been spotted near the town.

The Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim showed his sympathy for the untra-nationalist organization of the country in the most clear way. He formed the trademark sign of the “Grey Wolves” inside the Turkish parliament while he was giving a speech!
