The controversy surrounding trans and intersex women in the women's boxing tournament at the Paris Olympics may soon have a resolution. Gabriel Martelli, director of the coaching committee at the International Boxing Association, suggested that introducing a third category in boxing is under consideration.

The decision by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to allow Algerian Imane Khelif and Taiwanese Lin Yu-Ting to participate in boxing competitions has sparked heated debates recently. Both athletes were disqualified during the world championships in Delhi last year, with the International Boxing Association stating they did not meet the requirements for the women's category.

A vast survey by an EU rights body has found that 44% of LGBTIQ people in Greece have faced discrimination in at least one area of their life in the year before the survey. 

Although the figure is the 5th highest in the EU, it has decreased since the previous EU Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) survey in 2019, where 51% of respondents in Greece had faced discrimination. 

There were "no significant changes" in the human rights situation in Greece over the past year, the US State Department said in its annual report which includes, however, a list of issues pertaining to the treatment of migrants, police and the use of spyware.

This year's Belgrade Pride, scheduled for Saturday, takes place amid calls for Serbia to adopt a same-sex union law and improve the rights of the LGBT community generally.

Ljubljana – The LGBTIQ+ community staged the Pride Parade in Ljubljana on Saturday afternoon under the slogan Resist the Oppression as a culmination of a week-long festival, demanding freedom, equality and unconditional respect for human rights of LGBTIQ+ persons. The annual parade was for the first time accompanied by the Balkan Trans Intersex March.

The second annual Pride Ride, a protest by cyclists in support of LGBT rights, was held in Zagreb on Saturday.

The cycle rally began in a park in the Tresnjevka district in the western part of the city and moved through the streets of Zagreb before returning to the park.

Health Minister Andreas Xanthos announced on Thursday that transgender people will from now on be treated by the ESY national health system according to the gender that they identify as.

Intersex people in Germany can now legally identify themselves as such under a new law adopted in December, reported BBC. 

People who do not fit the biological definition of male or female can now choose the category "diverse" on official documents.

Those choosing the option will need a doctor's certificate to register.

Germany’s top court on Nov. 7 required parliament to recognize a “third gender” from birth, potentially making it the first European country to offer intersex people the option of identifying as neither male nor female.
