Türkiye ranks second in number of universities in THE rankings
In the Times Higher Education (THE) Interdisciplinary Science Rankings 2025, Türkiye has secured the second position globally for the highest number of universities.
Among 749 institutions evaluated from 92 universities countries, 45 Turkish universities made the list, with 10 ranking in the top 200 and four in the top 100.
21 Turkish institutions make top 500 ‘young universities’ list
Twenty-one higher education institution from Türkiye have been included in the top 500 of the world's best "young universities" list, according to a London-based education organization.
Sakura Festival at Sabancı University
Sabancı University is organizing the Sakura Festival to mark the centenary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Türkiye and Japan.
During the event, to be held on April 2, guests will have the chance to watch the flowers adorning approximately 2,000 Sakura trees on the campus.

10 Turkish universities feature on top in global ranking
Ten Turkish universities, with three of them in the top 500, have made it into the top 1,000 of the 2024 QA World University Rankings.
Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), a higher education rating agency headquartered in London, announced the "2024 World University Rankings," which is considered one of the most important rankings in the world.
Academic completes dangerous open-water swim route
An academic of a Turkish university has swum for 15 hours in the 34-kilometer Catalina Channel, which stretches between Santa Catalina Island and Los Angeles in the United States.
Raha Akhavan Tabatabaei, an academic from Sabancı University, successfully reached her goal by swimming the track, known as the world's one of the most dangerous open-water swim routes.

The proportion of women scientists and engineers in Turkey surpassed the EU average in 2019, according to the Eurostat report.
