Zero tolerance

Greece's security services are ailing from structural weaknesses that must be cured. This, however, is a process that takes time. What is most pressing now is ensuring that no more blood is spilled, that the murder of a soccer fan on Monday does not evolve into a vendetta between rival fan clubs. 

The authorities need to show zero tolerance for violence, the head of Greece's main opposition said on Thursday in the wake of an attack on a central Athens church with a small makeshift bomb.

National flag carrier Turkish Airlines has signed a declaration pledging zero tolerance on the illegal wildlife trade, the company has said in a statement.

Israel marked the 48th anniversary of the "reunification" of Jerusalem on May 17 with thousands expected to join a controversial march through the city's Arab eastern sector which it captured in the Six-Day War.
