The mansion of Colonel İbrahim Çolak, one of the heroes of the Turkish War of Independence, has been restored to its original and turned into a museum in the northwestern province of Bilecik's Bozüyük district.
Çolak, who served in the Ottoman army during the Balkan Wars and World War I, was a critical in figure in the beginning of the War of Independence in Anatolia.

Republican-era house in ancient city to serve tourism in west Turkey
A building completed during the Turkish republican era, located in the 2,300-year-old ancient city of Stratonikeia in the western province of Muğla and included on the UNESCO Tentative List, will be restored and used for touristic purposes.
Symbolic tomato statue attacked with gun in Turkey's Burdur
A tomato statue located at the entrance of the Mediterranean province of Burdur's Çavdır district was attacked with a gun on Jan. 31, Doğan News Agency has reported.
A signboard with the large tomato statue that says "Welcome to Söğüt town" was erected six months ago in the district, which is known for producing 70,000 tons of tomatoes on average every year.
Byzantine tombs unearthed in marble city
Some 65 Byzantine-era tombs have been unearthed in the most recent archaeological excavations in the ancient city of Stratonikeia, known as the city of gladiators in the western province of Muğla's Yatağan district.
