Tourist arrivals in Antalya tops 10 million
More than 10 million foreign tourists have already arrived by air in the Turkish holiday hotspot Antalya this year.
The number of foreign visitors between Jan. 1 and Aug. 22 increased by 20 percent from a year earlier, according to the provincial directorate of culture and tourism.

Tourism earnings keep rising
Tourism will bring the Greek economy an income of 39.2 billion euros this year, just 4% lower than the pre-pandemic high of €40.8 billion in 2019, according to the Economic Impact Research of the World Travel & Tourism Council.

WTTC calls on countries to focus on high-risk travelers
The World Travel & Tourism Council on Friday called for governments to abandon the concept of "high-risk countries" and instead focus on how individual "high-risk travelers" are treated at borders.
The WTTC, which represents the global travel and tourism private sector, is urging governments around the world to shift their focus from whole countries toward individual travelers.

Tourism accounts for a fifth of GDP and a quarter of jobs
The tourism and travel sector in Greece grew 6.9 percent last year, a rate that was three-and-a-half times higher than the growth rate of the entire Greek economy, a survey by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) has noted.
The survey illustrated that tourism accounted for 20.6 percent of the country's gross domestic product, against a global rate of just 10.4 percent.
WTTC sees tourism rising 3 pct in Greece this year

Greeces travel and tourism sector will enjoy growth of 3 percent this year compared with 2013, when the sectors contribution in the countrys gross domestic product amounted to 28.3 billion euros or 16.3 percent, according to a report by the World Travel & Tourism Council.
