Global wind turbine sales rise
Orders for wind turbines were up in the first half of the year compared to 2022, after a rebound in purchases in North America and strong volumes in China, said a study published on Sept. 1.
Between January and June turbine orders for capacity reached 69.5 gigawatts, a 12 percent rise over in the first six months of 2022, according to research firm Wood Mackenzie.

Siemens and Turkish partners win billion-dollar wind energy tender
A consortium of German giant Siemens and Turkey's Türkerler and Kalyon Enerji holdings won a billion-dollar wind energy tender on Aug. 3, offering the lowest price to the state with $3.48 cents per kilowatt hour.

Eight consortia, including four German giants, participated in the Turkish Energy Ministry's 1,000 megawatts (MW) wind power project tender on July 27.
In addition to the German giants, Chinese and Danish Vestas also took part in the bidding consortia as well as the U.S.'s General Electric along with their local partners.
Construction of wind farm starts in northwestern Serbia
KULA - MK Fintel Wind, a joint venture of the Italian public enterprise Fintel Energia Spa and Serbia's MK Group, announced on Tuesday that it has begun the construction of a wind farm near Kula, northwestern Serbia, with installed capacity of 9.9 megawatts, and the works are expected to be completed by the end of October.
