Egypt Police Kill 40 'Terrorists' after Giza Bus Attack

Egyptian police killed 40 "terrorists" in separate raids early Saturday, a day after a roadside bomb near the Giza pyramids killed three Vietnamese tourists and their guide, the interior ministry said, reports AFP. 

Two raids in the Giza governorate killed 30 "terrorists", while the remaining 10 were killed in the restive North Sinai, the ministry said in a statement.

Egypt Executes 4 Convicted Militants Over 2015 Attack

Egypt on Tuesday executed four alleged Islamic militants following their conviction by a military tribunal in the killing of three military academy students in a 2015 bomb attack that wounded six others./ABC News

The attack took place outside a stadium in the Nile Delta city of Kafr el-Sheikh as the military cadets were waiting for a bus to take them to the academy.

ISIS attacks Greek Orthodox Monastery of St. Catherine in Mount Sinai

Gunmen opened fire on an Egyptian police checkpoint near the famed Greek Orthodox Monastery of Saint Catherine in Sinai late on Tuesday, killing one policeman and wounding four, security and medical officials said.
ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack via its news agency Amaq.

Russia Brings Back 11,000 Tourists from Egypt in 24 Hours

About 11,000 Russian tourists have been evacuated from Egypt over the past 24 hours in the aftermath of the deadly Russian plane crash, according to official data, TASS reported on Sunday.

"Today, the number will be even higher," the Russian news agency quoted  Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich as saying.

Russian Airplane Reportedly Crashes in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula

A Russian airplane carrying more than 200 people on board has reportedly crashed in Egypt's Sinai peninsula on Saturday.

The information on the crash has been confirmed by the office of the Egyptian Prime Minister, the BBC reports.

The airplane operated by Kogalymavia airline was conducting flight 92-68 from the Egyptian resort of Sharm el-Sheikh to Saint Petersburg.

Suicide bomber kills 1, wounds 24 in Egypt's Sinai

A suicide bomber rammed a vehicle packed with explosives into a police base in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula on March 9, killing a civilian and wounding 24 policemen, security and health officials said.
      
The attack took place in the North Sinai provincial capital of El-Arish, minutes after a nighttime curfew was lifted at 6:00 am (0400 GMT).
