Police have uncovered a large cannabis plantation in a forest area near Tripoli in the Peloponnese. 

During a significant operation this week, authorities seized more than a ton of processed cannabis and 1,253 cannabis seedlings, each approximately 3.5 meters tall. The plantation covered around 35 acres. 

Turkey is interested in an offer from Tripoli to carry out energy exploration offshore Libya, Turkish Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar said on Wednesday.

"Libya has offered to us to work with our seismic vessels offshore. Frankly, we are warm to this. So we can be in the Libyan offshore to carry out seismic work," he told the state-owned Anadolu news agency.

The competent authorities arrested the 44-year-old as the perpetrator responsible for causing two fires in rural land, with intent and repeated offenses (on August 24 and 25, 2024), in the area of Kerasitsa, Municipality of Tripoli in Arcadia.

A woman was killed in a car accident on Thursday on the Korinthos-Tripolis-Kalamata highway near the Tsakona area in eastern Peloponnese.
