Four dead in traffic accident, truck driver arrested
Four people died in the crash that happened near the town of Svilajnac, RTS is reporting.
The driver of the truck reportedly attempted to illegally overtake vehicles in front of him ignoring a continuous line, and ended up colliding with an oncoming passenger car and a pickup truck.
Serbian footballer donates EUR 70,000 to sick child
Aleksandar Todorovic said the previously anonymous donor was Serbia and Manchester United footballer Nemanja Matic.
The child, 4-year-old Dusan Todorovic, is now is Barcelona, where he is expected to start therapy for recurrence of malignant adrenal gland tumor - neuroblastoma.
Svilajnac municipality, B92 Fund sign cooperation protocol
Mayor of Svilajnac Predrag Milanovic and B92 Fund Board of Directors President Veran Matic have signed a protocol on cooperation.
The document signed on Monday will provide for the reconstruction of the building of the secondary school of mechanical engineering in Svilajnac, that was heavily damaged during the flooding in May 2014.

SVILAJNAC - The EU has approved EUR 2.7 million for regulation work on the section of the river Resava running through the municipality of Svilajnac, central Serbia, head of the municipality Predrag Milanovic said on Thursday.

Japanese government makes another donation
BELGRADE -- The government of Japan will donate almost EUR 150,000 worth of equipment to the Mionica health center and to the Morava public utility company in Svilajnac.
The donation agreements were signed on Wednesday by Japanese Ambassador Masafumi Kuroki and the directors of the two institutions, Biljana Nikolic and Goran Bojic.

EU, B92 Fund, Novak Djokovic Foundation repair kindergarten
SVILAJNAC -- With the financial help of the EU, the B92 Fund and the Novak Djokovic Foundation, a kindergarten in Svijalnac has been repaired and reopened on Wednesday.
The Decja Radost ("Children's Joy") kindergarten in this central Serbian town had suffered extensive damage during the floods last spring.
Int'l Fair of Tourism to open in Belgrade on Thursday
BELGRADE - The 37th International Fair of Tourism will bring together 1,100 exhibitors from 49 countries in Belgrade from February 19 to 22, Belgrade Fair's press office has announced.
This year's fair will be held under the slogan "Seize the Moment", and exhibitors will present their tourist offer in six halls.
Parliament committee: Floods in Serbia killed 57 people
BELGRADE - The floods that hit Serbia in mid-May killed a total of 57 people, including 23 who drowned, and 31,879 people have been evacuated, the Serbian parliament’s Defense and Internal Affairs Committee said at a meeting they held Wednesday.
Nikolic: State of emergency until reconstruction is complete
SVILAJNAC - Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic said Wednesday that the state of emergency, as a warning of danger, has been lifted in Serbia, but that the country will remain in a state of emergency until the last home damaged by the floods is rebuilt.
Visiting the flood-damaged kindergarten in Svilajnac, Nikolic warned that the troubles are not over.
France doubles number of rescuers in Serbia
BELGRADE - Last weekend, France doubled the number of technical rescuers it has sent to help relief efforts in Serbia after recent massive floods in the country, increasing it to a total of 89 rescue workers who are all on the ground right now, the French Embassy in Belgrade has said in a release.
