Singer-songwriter Lavrentis Machairitsas dies aged 63
Singer-songwriter Lavrentis Machairitsas has died aged 63, apparently of heart failure.
Machairitsas, who had been vacationing at his summer home in the area of Ptelos, Magnisia, was transferred to Volos hospital early on Monday morning and passed away at 6.30 a.m.,

Greek ex-FinMin Found Guilty of Helping Tax Evasion
Former Greek Finance Minister Giorgos Papakonstantinou has been handed a one-year suspended sentence after a court found him guilty of helping three people dodge millions in tax.
One of Greece's previous legislatures was offered by IMF head Christine Lagarde a list of Greek citizens holding offshore accounts, in a move to fight tax evasion - the so-called "Lagarde list".
Prosecutor recommends guilty verdict for ex-FinMin Papacostantinou
An Athens special court prosecutor on Wednesday recommended a guilty verdict for former PASOK FinMin Giorgos Papakonstantinou on two felony counts related to his handling of the so-called “Lagarde list”.
The two felony charges are falsification of a public document and breach of faith.

Giorgos Papakonstantinou, a former Greek finance minister in the George Papandreou government between October 2009 and June 2011 has appeared in court in Athens Wednesday.
