Good Tourism Conditions in the Lower Parts of The Mountains
Weather conditions in the lower parts of the mountains are good for tourism today, the Mountain Rescue Service with the Bulgarian Red Cross told Focus News Agency.
In the higher parts, over 2,300 m, there are snow drifts. Temperatures are below freezing - between -3C and -10C. The weather is clear and calm.
Facilities at most resorts are in operation.
Yesterday Bulgarian Mountain Rescue Service Conducted Operation to Rescue 3 Tourists Stranded on Botev Peak
Teams of the Kalofer Mountain Rescue Service conducted an operation to take down three people stranded on Botev peak, the Mountain Rescue Service with the Bulgarian Red Cross told Focus News Agency. The people were suffering from cold and exhaustion, the rescuers said. The three Bulgarian citizens were supported down by the rescue teams. They are now in good condition.
Good Weather Conditions for Mountain Tourism Today in Bulgaria
Today is favourable for hiking in the mountains, the weather is clear and quiet, the Mountain Rescue Service (MRS) to the Bulgarian Red Cross told Focus News Agency. There is light to moderate wind high in the mountains. At Pamporovo, the lift lines I and II will operate during the holidays. No accidents with tourists were registered in the last 24 hours.
Avalanche Danger in Bulgaria is Currently Level 3
The current avalanche danger in Bulgaria is level 3, Kamen Yakimov of the Mountain Rescue Service at the Bulgarian Red Cross told Focus Radio this morning. This is considerable avalanche danger, he specified.
