Westinghouse, Hyundai to Design AP1000® Reactors for Bulgaria
On November 5, 2024, Westinghouse Electric Company, Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co., and "Kozloduy NPP - New Powers" EAD signed a contract in Sofia to initiate engineering services for two nuclear reactors using Westinghouse's AP1000® technology. The event was attended by Bulgarian Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev, Energy Minister Vladimir Malinov, U.S.
Bulgaria's Kozloduy NPP Signs Engineering Deal with Hyundai and Westinghouse
An engineering contract for the construction of new nuclear facilities at Site No. 2 of the Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant is set to be signed today with Hyundai and Westinghouse. Caretaker Energy Minister Vladimir Malinov stated that this contract will provide a precise schedule and fixed pricing for the project within 12 months of its signing.

Petyo Ivanov to Replace Jacklen Cohen as Head of Bulgarian Energy Holding
Jacklen Cohen, head of Bulgarian Energy Holding (BEH) company, has been dropped from the board of directors of the state-owned group, the Energy Ministry has announced.
Cohen has been replaced as board member by Bulgargaz CEO Petyo Ivanov under a decision of Energy Minister Temenuzhka Petkova.

Bulgargaz CEO Anticipates 13% Gas Price Decrease from April, 10% Decrease from July
Petyo Ivanov, CEO of Bulgaria's state-owned gas supplier Bulgargaz, has said that gas rates are expected to drop by around 13% from April, with a possibility for a new price decrease of up to 10% in July.
