Bulgaria: 3 Active Outbreaks in Haskovo, Fires in Silven and Nova Zagora
There are three active outbreaks of fires in Haskovo province, where a state of emergency was declared yesterday, regional governor Krasimir Angelov announced at a briefing this morning, BTA reports. Yesterday, fires were burning in almost all municipalities of the province, 8 in total.
1048 Pre-Trial Proceedings for Non-Compliance with Covid-19 Emergency Measures
A total of 1048 pre-trial proceedings have been initiated since the start of the coronavirus State of Emergency on March 13 for non-compliance with measures and rules related to curbing the spread of Covid-19, the Prosecutor's Office said on April 23.
The largest number is in the district of Varna, 136, followed by the district of Haskovo, 91.
2124 Schools Remained Closed Today
Today, February 4, the educational process in 2124 schools and nine kindergartens in 19 districts of the country has been suspended, the Ministry of Education and Science announced.

100 People are Fighting the Wildfire in Southern Bulgaria
The wildfire near villages of Bryagovo, Rodopi, and Lyubenovo in the south Bulgarian district of Haskovo, engulfed nearly 8,000 decares of land, half of it with deciduous forest.
Some 100 people, including firefighters, forest officials, and military, are taking part in the efforts to extinguish the fire.
New Fence Along Bulgaria-Turkey Border In Haskovo to be Longer Than Initially Planned
The new border fence along the Bulgaria-Turkey border in Haskovo district will be 1,000-1,800 meters longer than initially planned, Haskovo District Governor Minko Angelov announced, according to BNR.
BGN 5-6 M Needed To Deal With Bird Flu in Bulgaria
Between BGN 5 M and BGN 6 M will be needed in order for the state to deal with bird flu and compensate farmers, stated outgoing Agriculture Minister Desislava Taneva.
Taneva explained that bird flu is not dangerous for people.

Bulgarian Police Arrest Fourteen Illegal Migrants Near Haskovo
A group of fourteen illegal migrants, who had crossed the Bulgarian border without being noticed, was detained in the interior of the country.
The refugees were uncovered during a police check conducted at a private home in the village of Nova Nadezhda in the municipality of Haskovo.

Harmanli Mayor Hristo Liskov has sent a letter to Bulgarian PM and all political parties in Parliament. He has stated that the temporary refugee camp in the city should become gated.
The letter specifies 10 cases of incidents of criminal nature serving as justification for the proposal, as reported by Mediapool news website.
