Depot Art Gallery in Athens is hosting "Eidomen," a solo exhibition of works by artist Vangelis Tzermias. The show explores the ongoing migrant crisis and its title is inspired by a makeshift camp at Greece's border village of Idomeni, where thousands of refugees and migrants were stranded earlier this year. The show opens on Saturday, October 8, and runs through November 3.

Migrant flow to Greek islands ebbs but camps full

There were no migrant and refugee landings on the shores of Lesvos for a fourth straight day Tuesday. Also no arrivals were reported on the islands of Chios and Samos between Monday and Tuesday morning.

A total of 8,190 people are being hosted at the so-called hot spots on the three islands, with more than half of those staying on Lesvos.

Migrants again block railroad near Idomeni

Migrants in Idomeni, Greece, on the border with Macedonia, have once again blocked the railroad tracks, Skopje-based media have reported.

According to the reports quoted on Tuesday by the Beta agency, the migrants blocked the tracks again yesterday, shortly after the Greek police moved in to clear it up after 30 days of blockade.

Macedonian police fire tear gas at migrants on Greek border

Macedonian police fired tear gas on Wednesday to disperse around 50 migrants stranded in Greece who tried to pull down part of the razor wire fence separating the two countries, a Reuters witness said. 

Scuffles briefly broke out and Greek riot police later intervened to break up the crowd.
