Iran earned their second win in a row at the 2018 FIVB Men's World Championship Thursday night.

The Iranian team defeated the hosts 3-1 (25-22, 25-20, 22-25, 25-19) and got level on points with world champions Poland at the top of Pool D.

Team Melli had started the campaign with a 3-0 victory over Puerto Rico on Wednesday.

While it wasn't quite the massive 11,000+ crowd that saw co-hosts Italy kick off the tournament in Rome, injury-rattled Bulgaria kicked off play in Varna with a 3-0 win over Finland in front of 4,850 fans in the country's third-largest city: Varna.

The national volleyball team achieved the first victory at the European Championship in Poland. The selection of Plamen Konstantinov won 3:0 (25:15, 28:26, 25:21) against Spain.

Bulgaria's national volleyball team defeated Cuba by 3:1 ( 25:19, 25:21, 24:26, 25:23) in a game from Group C of the Volleyball World Cup's Second Division, Sportal reported.

This was the second consecutive major success for the team led by coach and former exceptional player Plamen Konstantinov. The Bulgarians currently were defeated only once by the team of Canada.
