President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has maintained a busy diplomatic schedule in 2024, engaging in intensive international contacts across 17 countries and hosting leaders from 18 nations in Türkiye.

The list of the 100 best foods for 2024/2025 has been published by Taste Atlas and among them are two Greek ones.

The culinary guide, which had named Greek cuisine as the best in the world for this season, published its list of the 100 best dishes which came out of 367,000 valid reviews for 11,258 dishes in its database.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said in remarks aired on Dec. 15 that he will visit Ethiopia and Somalia in the first two months of next year.

On the heels of a landmark accord, brokered by Türkiye, that ended nearly a year of tensions between the two African nations on maritime access to the Red Sea, Erdoğan said the breakthrough came after "a meeting that lasted seven hours."

The African Union (AU) has urged Ethiopia and Somalia to implement "without delay" an agreement aimed at ending tensions between the neighbors over Ethiopia's access to the sea, calling the deal an "important act."

The United Nations on Thursday praised a landmark Türkiye-mediated agreement between Somalia and Ethiopia aimed at resolving their differences.

Somalia and Ethiopia have reached a deal to end a nearly year-old bitter dispute following hours of Turkish-brokered talks in Ankara, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said Wednesday.

Hailing it as a "historic agreement", Erdoğan said he hoped the deal would be "the first step towards a new beginning based on peace and cooperation between Somalia and Ethiopia".
