A Turkish Airlines flight carrying passengers from Istanbul to Jakarta had to make a diversion for Medan due to a cabin disturbance caused by a passenger biting a cabin attendant's finger.

Police have identified the passenger as Muhammad John Jaiz Boudewijn, a 48-year-old Indonesian national, who was returning to Jakarta following a personal trip to Türkiye.

A 6.2 magnitude earthquake was registered southwest of Indonesia's Aceh Autonomous Region on Sumatra Island, Reuters reported, citing the American Geophysical Institute.

The depth of the earthquake was 20.3 km.

Thirteen people have died after an Indonesian military transport plane crashed in the east of the country on Dec. 18, officials said, marking yet another air accident for the armed forces.

A massive earthquake struck on March 2 off the Indonesian island of Sumatra, a region devastated by the 2004 Indian Ocean quake and tsunami, but initial fears of another region-wide disaster faded as tsunami warnings were cancelled. 

More than a hundred people are feared dead after a military transport plane crashed in the Indonesian city of Medan on Tuesday.
